Berkshire Immigrant Center seeks a thoughtful and dynamic Executive Director to lead the organization into its next phase.
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of BIC and is responsible for the organization’s overall leadership, management, and external presence. This hands-on role requires the ability to balance internal operational strength with strategic external engagement. BIC seeks a leader who brings strong management experience, sound judgment, and a deep commitment to immigrant communities.
BIC enters this moment from a position of strength: financially stable, highly respected, and supported by a committed Board and staff. At the same time, the organization is poised to strengthen its visibility, deepen partnerships, and expand its impact in ways that are both strategic and sustainable. The next Executive Director will build on this strong foundation while guiding the organization with clarity, discipline, and purpose.

Strengthen Organizational Infrastructure: Continue building internal systems, management structures, and operational clarity to support long-term effectiveness and stability.
Foster a Collaborative, Solution-Oriented Approach: Bring a mindset that emphasizes partnership and problem-solving. Help ensure that BIC is experienced by clients, partners, and donors as responsive, engaged, and committed to finding pathways forward.
Lead with Presence, Clarity, and Trust: Provide steady, relational leadership that builds confidence across staff, Board, and community. Support the Board’s continued development as a governance-focused body.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and supporting a dedicated staff team
Strengthening organizational systems and infrastructure
Serving as a visible and effective representative of BIC
Partnering with the Board of Directors on governance and strategy

Strong organizational and management skills, including staff supervision and operational oversight
Experience engaging with community partners, stakeholders, and/or donors
Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent an organization effectively
Ability to balance competing priorities and make thoughtful decisions
Lived experience as an immigrant is strongly valued and brings meaningful perspective and credibility to the role. Candidates without lived experience should demonstrate:
A deep and nuanced understanding of immigrant experiences
Cultural humility and a strong commitment to equity and inclusion
Meaningful, sustained engagement with immigrant communities
Fluency or strong competence in Spanish or another language in addition to English is highly desirable, as it supports effective communication and relationship-building with the communities BIC serves.

A strong communicator and relationship-builder
Thoughtful and measured in their approach to change
Deeply committed to BIC’s mission
